As your representative I will be highly visible in your community. Here is how I will stay in touch with our district:

Walk to the State Capital each day during the session unless there is bad weather.

Visit every public school and attend one meeting of every neighborhood association in the district each year.

Hold an open community forum at a different public library or community center every month.

As your representative I will lead with honesty, integrity, and a high ethical standard. Here is what I pledge to do on a personal level to lead by example:

Weight control is a major crisis affecting our community that can cause serious health problems such as diabetes. I am overweight (292 lbs) and need to lose some pounds. Therefore, I committed on April 27th to lose 58 pounds before November 7th by walking throughout our district, eating a healthy diet, and visiting a doctor.

My goal is for all of Tennessee’s children and seniors to have health insurance. I will fight for everyone to have the same insurance coverage as the state representatives do.

Every cent you pay in taxes should be spent wisely by our Legislature. I feel that it is unnecessary to have you pay for my home office or travel expenses to the nearby Capital. I will save our district thousands of dollars by rejecting these unnecessary perks and request that this money is donated to scholarship programs at Tennessee State University.
